With only six weeks to plan a surprise birthday party for 150 guests, we kept things simple and elegant for Ron’s birthday party with a black and white Sinatra-themed outdoor fête. Guests were greeted on the ‘red carpet’ with flutes of champagne served from a fun champagne tree. Tray-passed hor d’oeuvres catered by The Abbey Catering followed by dinner, dessert and dancing with the musical stylings of the Lucky Devils Band made for a memorable night. Ron’s beautiful home in Rancho Santa Fe provided the perfect backdrop for all the details including an elegant black and white escort card board with name cards by Whimsique, a basket filled with pashminas for the ladies and fedoras for the guys, a vintage lounge and cigar bar with furnishings from Found Rentals, an all-white tabletop with gold accents and black Napoleon chairs from Classic Party, black and white street lamps from Hire Elegance and a delicious black and white dessert display from The Crimson Cake. La Tavola linens and florals by Flowers Annette Gomez added the finishing touches that even old Blue Eyes himself would have approved of, all beautifully captured by First and Orange.
